A sad goodbye to the Lancashire

Lancashire Pub

Sad but inevitable news as 200 years of history has now vanished. The Lancashire House Hotel Santon (closed for many years now, but remembered by many), was due to be demolished early December 2015 to make way for new housing. The derelict hotel had dated back to at least 1815 and was prominently positioned approximately half way between the former Island capital of Castletown, and Douglas.

Internal Wood Panelling

The building had in recent years been put to alternative use, and the only internal feature remaining just before demolition, from its days as a pub, was a baronial style oak panelling on the interior walls.
